Mobile App Alumni Terms of Use

Welcome to Barney App. These Terms of Use apply to you as an alumni user, accessing the Barney App via invitation from your treatment centre. By using the Barney Platform, you agree to these terms.

Important Safety Notice

⚠️ THE BARNEY APP IS DESIGNED TO HELP TREATMENT CENTRES STAY CONNECTED WITH THEIR ALUMNI COMMUNITY. IT IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT, THERAPY, OR PROFESSIONAL COUNSELLING.

DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORM FOR EMERGENCIES.

 

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A CRISIS OR NEED URGENT HELP:

  • CALL 999 (UK) OR YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY NUMBER IMMEDIATELY.

  • YOU MAY ALSO CONTACT YOUR GP, HEALTHCARE PROVIDER, OR LOCAL CRISIS HOTLINE.

 

YOUR TREATMENT CENTRE REMAINS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ALUMNI RELATIONSHIP AND ANY DIRECT COMMUNICATIONS WITH YOU. THE BARNEY APP DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL OR CLINICAL SERVICES.

Purpose of the Barney App

The Barney App is designed to help treatment centres keep in touch with their alumni community. It is for peer connection, updates, and communication only. It is not a substitute for therapy, clinical care, or emergency services.

No Emergency Use

Do not use the Barney App in a medical or mental health emergency. If you need urgent help, call your local emergency services (e.g., 999) or go to the nearest accident and emergency department.

Your Responsibilities

You must use the Barney App in a respectful and lawful way. You are responsible for any content you post. You must not share offensive, harmful, or unlawful material. Do not attempt to misuse, hack, or interfere with the Barney App.

Privacy & Data

Your treatment centre is responsible for your alumni data that they upload or manage on Barney App on your behalf. You should contact them if you have any queries about the data they upload or manage on your behalf and if you require support in using the Barney App. Barney also collects certain information (e.g., your login details and usage data) for account management and security purposes. Intellectual Property

The Barney App and its content are owned by Barney App Limited (“Barney”). You may use it only for personal, non-commercial purposes as part of your ongoing recovery journey with your treatment centre.

Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The Barney App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Barney cannot guarantee

uninterrupted access or that the Barney App will be error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law,

 

Barney is not liable for:

  • Reliance on content shared by alumni or your treatment centre;

  • Loss of data or access issues;

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.

Termination of Access

Your access is managed by your treatment centre. If your treatment centre’s subscription ends, or if you misuse the Barney App, your access may be suspended or terminated.

Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
